About Bys Vyken Bridal
Hi, I’m Zoë (she/her), the founder of the Bys Vyken Bridal boutique near Bristol.
“Bys Vyken” is Cornish for “forever,” and as I grew up in Newquay, I wanted to bring a little of Cornwall – with it’s relaxed, unique vibe – to my boutique.
My Story
I started working in bridal in 2024, but I’ve got plenty of experience when it comes to working with all kinds of people and providing them with a fantastic service. I’m also no stranger to costumery – my Nana was a milliner and made the most amazing dance costumes when I was young, so I’m well used to being pinned into dresses!
That experience – and my love of gorgeous gowns and fabulous costumes – came in handy when I had my own wedding. I was a 2020 bride, whose wedding was delayed by Covid, meaning I ended up doing it twice – a small registry service in 2020 and a beautiful, full wedding day in 2021. I visited quite a few places whilst searching for the dress of my dreams and it’s fair to say that my experiences were mixed. When I finally found “the one,” it was at a bridal boutique that had a really wonderful, relaxed energy and I was inspired by more than just the dress I chose!
I knew I’d found something I was excited about and it became my mission to create a bridal boutique in Bristol that would be the perfect blend of inclusivity, sustainability and that fabulous, relaxed vibe I’d experienced when I found my wedding dress.
my approach
At Bys Vyken Bridal, I’m passionate about taking the stress out of wedding dress shopping, ensuring that every person who walks through the door receives a service that is unique to them.
I care about getting to know each to-be-wed as an individual, so never be afraid to be open and honest about your likes, dislikes and your wedding worries – I’m here to help you find something that makes you feel 100% comfortable and completely yourself on your big day, after all!
I want everyone who visits Bys Vyken Bridal to feel welcome and at ease.
I hold a level 3 qualification in British Sign Language and I am happy to conduct appointments in BSL if this is something my brides or their family/friends require. Reasonable adjustments will always be provided where helpful.
LGBTQIA+ people are more than welcome here. I provide a safe and inclusive space for any nearly-wed looking for their dream wedding outfit.
Babies and children are welcome if you feel they will handle the experience well. They are welcome to use the garden here to stretch their legs and give them a break.
Unfortunately I can’t accommodate dogs unless they are a service animal.
I was ecstatic to find my dream dress with Zoe as she herself and her boutique were the total right fit for me.

Bys Vyken Bridal specialises in modern bridal and boho chic, with beautiful collections carefully curated to provide my brides with a variety of stunning options, priced generally between £1,100 and £2,250 (with the majority in the middle of this range). There is also a selection of “off-the-peg” wedding dresses at a significant discount.
