Marylise & Rembo Styling – See Behind The Scenes of These Beautiful Wedding Dresses

Why Marylise And Rembo Styling?
The Marylise and Rembo Fashion group is a family-run business, which began in 1926 as a hat shop, before evolving into a wholesale bridal accessories company. Over time, it expanded to become the driving force behind the well-loved bridal brands, Marylise and Rembo Styling.
With decades of experience in creating stunning wedding dresses that are innovative in design and finished to an exceptionally high standard, I had no hesitation in picking both brands to stock at Bys Vyken Bridal!
Like me, they are passionate about sustainability and only produce on demand, meaning each dress is uniquely tailored to an individual bride. The same, named box follows each dress from start to finish, so at every step, workers know exactly which bride they are creating for. In fact, when a bride receives a Rembo Styling wedding dress, she’ll find there is a QR code she can scan to follow the dress at every stage of the creative process!
With an array of beautiful dresses in their collections and a clear love for what they do, it’s easy to see why both Marylise and Rembo Styling are so popular with brides, today. So, when I was invited out to Leiria, Portugal, to tour their atelier and see some of their newest collections in the flesh, it was a no-brainer – I jumped at the chance!
Sustainability AND The WOW-Factor!
As I mentioned, these brands’ sustainability credentials were a big reason I was so keen to work with them, and after seeing how their dresses are made and meeting some of the incredible staff, I am even more delighted with my choice!
The building where the magic happens features solar panels and plenty of natural light. From the moment you enter, you can feel that this is a special place, where wedding dresses are created with skill and care, rather than simply churned out. Of course there is automation involved (fabric – with the exception of delicate lace – is cut using a laser for absolute precision), but the dresses themselves are sewn by hand by a specialised team of seamstresses.
We were lucky enough to have lunch with some of these phenomenal craftswomen and discovered that many of them had been with the company for years, starting out in pattern-cutting and training their way up to hand-sewing the finished pieces. They explained that each time a dress is made, the machines that cut the fabric are programmed for the exact size required, ensuring waste is kept to an absolute minimum.
It was clear that these workers are passionate about their creations, producing work of the highest quality. Buttons are even covered on site to match the fabric of each dress perfectly!

We were shown some of the beautiful fabrics used to create Marylise and Rembo Styling wedding dresses and it was explained to us that wherever possible, European materials are used in order to cut down on their carbon footprint. Whilst these materials can be more expensive, they’re often of a higher quality and contain fewer flaws than cheaper fabrics sourced from further afield, helping to create a better quality of wedding dress. Good for the planet and great for brides!
As if all of that wasn’t enough, we were told that each one of Rembo Styling’s sustainable wedding dresses comes with a seed tag- it’s one of the many ways the brand tries to give back to nature. You simply plant your tag and enjoy the beautiful wild flowers that grow as a result!

Putting On A Show
Following lunch and our extensive tour of the atelier, we were treated to some catwalk shows, where we were able to see both Marylise and Rembo Styling’s newest dress designs brought to life!
This was one of the first times the collections had been shown to retailers, so it was a real honour to be a guest at this event. It was hugely exciting to be able to choose dresses from these new designs to add to our stock at Bys Vyken Bridal!
These will become part of the Autumn collection, available from September, so keep an eye on our socials and right here on the website, as we’ll be sharing some sneak peeks in due course…

Back To Bridal Business!
I came home from my trip to Portugal even more enthusiastic about helping brides find their dream dresses! I also came home with a fantastic gift – a stunning veil created in Portugal, with Bys Vyken Bridal embroidered on it! I was thrilled and can’t wait to display it for brides to see when they visit.
